Rolex Datejust - The Different Size Options

With an array of colors, metals, and bracelets to choose from, the Datejust is known for being the most diverse (and best-selling) Rolex watch of all time. So, it is probably no surprise to learn that the Rolex Datejust has the largest selection of case sizes to choose from too. Here, we’re going to introduce you to the different size options of the Datejust, including both the men and women’s collections.

Rolex Datejust 26mm

The 26mm Lady-Datejust is the smallest version of the Datejust to be produced, and is no longer available as an option in Rolex's current catalog. While Rolex my no longer go as small as 26mm, there is a huge selection of these watches on the secondary market today. So much so, that on our site alone you can get everything ranging from a plain stainless steel Datejust to solid 18k gold models that are set with diamonds.

Rolex Datejust 28mm

Today, Rolex's current-production Lady-Datejust collection consists of 28mm models. The classic 26mm size which stood for decades was just recently phased out in favor of the 28mm model, as the trend for bigger watches continues to climb. Within the modern 28mm collection, there is a huge selection of watches (just like with the 26mm model), with everything ranging from diamond dials and Everose gold to trusty stainless steel.

Rolex Datejust 31mm

The 31mm Datejust is more of a universal size - often known as the 'mid-size' Datejust; however it is still on the smaller end of the spectrum. With that in mind, the larger size also comes with some more unisex designs, featuring dials and details that both men and women can equally wear wear. Because of this gender-neutral styling, the contemporary 31mm Datejust models are actually featured under the mens Datejust collection. However, there are still models in this size that lean more towards traditionally female tastes too, with white gold bezels and diamond dials in softer colors.

Rolex Datejust 34mm (Rolex Date)

The 34mm version of the Datejust is actually known as the Rolex Date. In nearly all respects, it is the same as a regular Datejust - featuring the exact same signature date at three o’clock under a cyclops lens. It also boasts an automatic movement and Oyster case like its Datejust siblings. The only difference here is the size, the 34mm case clocking in just a bit smaller than their traditional, and widely popular 36mm model. Today, you can find the 34mm Date on both the second hand and retail market.

Rolex Datejust 36mm

The 36mm Rolex Datejust is the original size and the most popular one of them all, today worn by both men and women. For men, the 36mm sizing is perfectly understated and classic. For women, it provides a larger, chunkier appearance that’s trendy yet timeless thanks to the Datejust's universal appeal. Because the 36mm Datejust has been around since the model first launched, there is an incredible selection of vintage and pre-owned 36mm Datejust's on the secondary market. At retail, Rolex also offers a huge selection of 36mm models to satisfy the needs of their diverse, luxury clientele.

Rolex Datejust 41mm

The 41mm Datejust is the largest size available and the newest size edition to the collection. Rolex decided to launch the Datejust 41 to replace the Datejust II, which was the brand's first Datejust watch with a case larger than the standard 36mm. The Datejust II (which was also 41mm) satisfied the hunger for larger watches when it was launched in 2009, but it had slightly different proportions, and Rolex eventually decided to replace it with the Datejust 41 in 2016. Today, the 41mm Datejust is one of the most beloved sizes for men due to its classic looks but modern sizing and feel.
