Description: Rolex Air-King 5500
The Rolex Air-King ref 5500 (1986) has risen to high esteem among collectors in the know for its modest feature set and affordable price point. If you're in the market for an entry-level Rolex, a milestone gift for someone special, or wish to add a versatile vintage Rolex to your collection, ref. 5500 might appeal to you. The iconic, time-only Rolex hails from the original Air Series collection, including the Air Lion, Air Tiger, and Air Giant. Today, the Air-King, inspired by RAF pilots, is the only model still in production, although the modern model looks vastly different than the authentic Rolex for sale here. This Rolex is a fascinating watch to examine, featuring an older-style acrylic crystal and silver dial decorated with Tritium.
