Pre-owned Rolex Air-King ref 5500 (1979) was such a popular edition of the beloved pilot's watch that it remained in production for many decades. Because of its impressive production run, it is relatively easy to find a reference 5500 in excellent condition on the secondary market, including the example you see here. For that reason, and its versatile stainless steel finish, ref. 5500 tends to be one of the most attractive entry-level Rolex watches. This example circa 1979 is a handsome vintage model with a smooth bezel, the famous three-link Oyster bracelet, and a striking silver dial.
