The green Rolex Submariner is distinguished by a bezel or dial in Rolex's signature green hue. While the series also includes other color options, such as black and blue, green is the most polarizing. The green Submariner is only available in stainless steel and features either an aluminum or ceramic bezel.
Ref. 16610V:
The history of the green Submariner began with ref. 16610V. Rolex released a green edition of the long-running ref. 16610 in 2003, just in time to celebrate the Submariner's 50th anniversary. Instead of the standard black aluminum bezel, the ref. 16610V featured green. It was also the first modern Submariner to display the time on a Maxi dial. This unique design set earned the ref. 16610V the nickname "Kermit." It's also interesting to note that the ref. 16610V is the only Submariner ever produced with both an aluminum bezel and a Maxi dial.
Ref. 116610LV
By 2010, Rolex had phased out the aluminum bezel in favor of Cerachrom, a tough ceramic material highly resistant to most wear. The Submariner is a diver's watch at heart, so it only made sense to equip it with a bezel material that can withstand constant sun and saltwater exposure. Compared to aluminum, Cerachrom also holds a deeper hue, making it a popular choice among many contemporary Rolex collectors.
The Cerachrom bezel was released in green under ref. 116610LV. Also known as the "Hulk," this edition of the Submariner featured a matching green Maxi dial and a redesigned case with noticeably more robust proportions. Although the ref. 116610LV maintained the same 40mm diameter as its predecessor it appeared slightly larger with a bigger crown guard and wider lugs. Depending on the year produced, the Hulk also features Chromalight on the dial, a stunning luminous material that emits a bright blue glow in the dark.
Ref. 126610LV
The Green Submariner received an upgrade in 2020 via ref. 126610LV. The calibre 3135 Perpetual movement that powered the Kermit and Hulk was phased out of the Submariner series in favor of the next-generation calibre 3235. Additionally, the case size increased to 41mm. What did remain, however, was the lustrous green ceramic bezel. Dubbed by many as the "Hermit," the ref. 126610LV combines the green Cerachrom bezel from the Hulk with the black Maxi dial of the Kermit.

Green Submariner Price
When the Kermit hit the market in 2003, it wasn't an instant hit. In fact, it wasn't until the Hulk, with its polarizing feature set, was released in 2010 that the Kermit started to gain the cult status that it enjoys today. With the release of reference 126610LV in 2020, demand for the Hulk ref. 116610LV and Kermit 16610V is expected to rise. Depending on the feature set, 16610V Kermit prices range anywhere from $15k to $27k. The 116610LV Hulk averages around $18k. At retail, the brand-new ref. 126610LV price is $9,550. That price tops out around $20k on the secondary market.
