This GMT-Master is in overall great vintage condition. The case is strong with normal signs of wear. The "fat font" red-back bezel is in great, attractive condition. The blue portion presents as a lovely dark blue and the red portion has faded to a beautiful pinkish color. The matte black dial is overall great condition with light patina. The dial has a couple marks, but these are hard to notice depending on the lighting. The lume on the dial has developed patina and aged to an attractive buttery yellow color. The hands have developed patina and the lume in the hands have aged to a pleasing pale yellow color. The bracelet is in great condition with normal signs of wear; it has stretch between the links which is common for this style bracelet.
The GMT Master is Rolex’s signature pilot’s watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It’s one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it’s instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. Rolex initially used glossy dials in the 1675 until around 1966 and switched to matte dials, like the example we have here.
This circa 1971 example is in overall beautiful and honest condition. This watch has a lovely "fat font" bezel meaning that the numbers are a noticeably thicker font and the red has faded to a lovely pinkish color; this combined with a buttery yellow lume gives the watch a lovely vintage athestic. Collectors refer to this dial variation as a Mark I "Long E." When looking at the "Rolex" text on the dial the "E" has a longer central bar (same length as the top and bottom ones) and that is where the nickname comes from.

Well represented watch in excellent condition. Super fast shipping. My second purchase from Bobs but not my last. Their watches seem to be in better condition than many of the others I’ve seen online.
The whole transaction process with Bob's is always top notch. The vintage watch was functioning as expected, the case is relatively strong with minimal polishing, and the dial is a beautiful service dial as expected.
I really like this beautiful 1675 with fuchsia bezel.
Quick e-mail responses, systematic
I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
